Thank you for sending Roma's video to us. She is just so cute in her chick costume. She will luv these videos, when she can look back at them, at an older age. WE just wish we had ascess to this technology, we you all were little. Especially, to hear their recorded voice at such an early age. Hope everyone is well and doing good. We'd luv to get to meet her in person sometime. We'll let you know when we can meet up in our next visit down south, ok... Patty&Dicky

Thinning them out is a good option.

I love monitors, though unbiased at what needs to be done to help a fragile ecosystem.

They make great pets if one has the patience to tame one. About 2 hours a day of handling them will do that. Roughly 6 months of that and they will become docile lambs around people.

The monitors worst predator in america is probably the very accepted household cat. They kill off more pet monitors that escape than anything else. Of course after a certain age, the monitor can fight back, and will have a lil cat snack. But in the first 2-3 years the cat has a good advantage. But like the article says, they are extremely skittish and fast.

I saw a lizard I can not identify. I have a minor in biology and have searched everywhere for it. I am ashamed that I did not take a picture. It looked like a green alligator on a tree as its head was wide with teeth but not bumpy or having scales it was short and stockey with a short tail. It was definitly not an iguana. It was about 3-4 feet long. If you know what it was please contact me with a short email please. I saw it in Fort Lauderdale.

1.) I think that is pretty cool that we have nile monitors introduced to Florda's enviorment. You gotta think that way back when, certain species somehow migrated to an area of the planet. 2.) Yes they do have many predators in Florda. Primarilly when they are young; Diurnal Raptors(Eagles,Falcons,Hawks, ect),Armadillo's, Raccoon's, Weasels, Panthers, Bobcats ect... 3.) Yes they are very aggressive creatures. I have one as a pet. Isn't it expected that reptiles are going to be aggressive though? Would you let your child near a crocodile? And would you SHOOT a crocodile or aligator? Yes these animals are probally not suppose to live in Florda but if there are as many as it seems there are from what people have been saying, guess what? They live there now. So killing them is just plain cruel. They are only trying to addapt to the habitat and make due in what instinctual way they know how. Its not fair to blame them for that. Besides, you could go ahead and kill as many as you like but it sounds like they are there to stay

I struggle to get past 19 seconds. I would love to see an honest recording of someone getting above 1 minute without cheating, I do believe it's very bloody difficult.
